Another in my Large Bird series, the Great Blue Heron is one of my favorite birds. I watch them on the Hood and Columbia Rivers and am constantly fascinated by their stateliness.

Using powdered glass to create imagery between sheets of glass, this piece is formed into a three-dimensional panel by heating the glass into a hand built mold.

Panel measures 18" tall x 10.5" wide and nests in a powder coated metal stand that is 12" wide x 4" deep x 6.5" tall.

I use iridescent glass as my base, so when placed in a lit area it glows and sparkles. Especially if placed where the sun can shine behind it.
