Product Description
It's A Pot-Luck Supper!
This vintage set was designed to hold an 8" Pyrex bowl (which is missing) handle to handle this Art Deco inspired set measures 11" x 3.75" tall; 9" with the curvy handled cover.
This pretty vintage covered bowl set made by Buehner-Wanner Co.(Frederick Buehner Wanner) also known as Buenilum Aluminum (it's marked on bottom with a BW and castle turret) made during the popular hammered & decorative aluminum haydays, circa 1930's-1950's.
Aluminum tableware was scooped up by the masses because it was far less costly than silver, stayed bright and shiny and kept hot foods hot and cold foods cold for a long time.
BW sold it's manufacturing facilities and designs to Pfaltzgraff in 1969. Sadly BW closed altogether back in '73.
This pretty set is in good (but slightly used) condition and still serves up a good lookin' bean salad to this very day. Like all aluminum pieces, we suggest hand washing only.... just don't put it in the dishwasher.
