This cool 7.5" x 5.5" vintage hardcover book looks circa 1920-ish to me. It's unmarked inside and could be lots older.

Wonderful red and black illustrated cover with two armed adventurers spying on a sailing ship in the distance.

Brown cloth covered boards. Weak spine in the front. The cover is stained at the top (see photos) and worn at head/tail of spine and corners. 427 lightly tanned pages are unmarked.

There are 6 pages of advertising for other books of interest to boys at the back of the book.
