Product Description
Here's the very latest cutting edge equipment in Astrophysics in 1887!

Check out this mind-boggling double-sided antique chart of some the very latest new designs in celestial observation from Germany in 1887!
It's one of the most beautifully detailed works of art that I've ever seen.

'1887 Potsdam Telescope' is and original engraving from 1887 printed front and back on heavy paper. It's in glorious condition captured in classic basic black (of course) and captioned in German text. Either side is perfect for framing.

This fabulous illustration from Germany is simply lovely. Smooth and flat with crisp edges and corners and almost no tanning at all... remarkable condition for 124 year old paper!

Your antique German illustration measures 6.25" x 9 1/2" and will come via USPS in a bend proof mailer to protect it on it's journey from my place to yours.

Here's a bit of info about The Potsdam Telescope:

The Astrophysical Institute Potsdam (AIP) is a German research institute. It is the successor of the Berlin Observatory founded in 1700 and of the Astrophysical Observatory Potsdam (AOP) founded in 1874. The latter was the world's first observatory to emphasize explicitly the research area of astrophysics. The AIP was founded in 1992, in a re-structuring following the German Reunification.

The AIP is privately funded by the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Scientific Community. It is located in Babelsberg in the state of Brandenburg, just west of Berlin, though the Einstein Tower solar observatory and the great refractor telescope on Telegrafenberg in Potsdam belong to the AIP.
