This unusual and illusive rain forest animal is also known as Maylay (Malaysian), Collared bear, Bruang, Dog Bear and (Thailand), Ape Man Bear.

This original antique engraved illustration from 1887 measures 6" x 8.75". The image itself measures 5" x 7" It's in lovely and firm condition with the usual even tanning and finger smudges one usually finds on 123 year old paper (although not much at all, really.)
