This drilled Ammonite was easy to wire wrap. Finished length with wire wrapped bale is 1 1/2", and bale is approximately 5mm.

Ammonites are Cephalopods or "head foots". These ancestors are of the squid, octopus and chambered nautilus were first called Ammon's Stones from their resemblance to the ram's horns of Ammon, ancient Egyptian God of life and procreation. They evolved during the Paleozoic Era from the straight shelled Nautiloids such as Orthoceras. These specimens, found in the Sahara Desert of Morocco, have been polished to bring out the chambers as well as the shape of the Ammonite.

Ammolite is fossilized ammonite that has been compressed under great pressure beneath the ground, which is what gives it its wonderful colors. Ammolite is said to radiate positive Earth energy, and to bring good luck and prosperity. It is also said to grant miracles. Ammolite is excellent as a tool for deep meditation.
