Black and white Havanese Porcelain Brooch. One of a kind ceramic pin.

I hand sculpt each piece out of porcelain clay, kiln fired to 2500 degrees, hand glazed, and then kiln fired one more time for added shading. White gold is used for the edging around the piece and is applied then fired on for a durable finish.

My creations are individually hand sculptured in Porcelain clay. The colors are achieved by working chemical stains into the porcelain using a technique of colored inclusions. One of my favorite aspects of using color inside the clay body is that it is almost impossible to make the same piece again. Each piece becomes a unique individual work of art.The porcelain figures are bisque fired in a kiln. They are then glazed by hand with a clear glaze,and re-fired to a fine porcelain china.
