Growing up in the desert has always inspired me to paint what surrounds me. Prickly pear cactus have the most visual "movement" of all species of the cactus family. They change colors throughout the day and with differing sunlight angles. Though they are primarily green, they can reflect multiple colors including purple, pink, and peach tones depending on the time of year (especially during Monsoon season).
