I like Dalmatian Jasper very much. It is such a ditinctive stone - all creamy background and spots of black and brown.

Here, I have used some 14mm round beads, with one Thai Hill Tribe silver bead, asymetrically placed, to set them off. This bead has a great, hammered and oxidised surface, that reminds me of craters...the inspiration for the name of the necklace.

Thai silver is purer than sterling silver, typically, 97-99% pure, and is a little warmer in colour than sterling silver. It is also, I have read, softer and easier to work, which explains why there are just so many lovely designs to play with!

The necklace is 19" long and fastens with a huge sterling silver toggle clasp. The spacer beads between the jasper beads are silver-plated.
