Product Description
This wonderful antique c.1920's French Celluloid cut-work silhouette Brooch has a old Ship sailing on the water. The ivory colored celluloid Brooch has been called "French Ivory". It is framed within a brassy gold colored frame mounting. The Celluloid has a colored wash on the water and the ship.
The back has a C-Clasp which was once a trombone clasp C- clasp which is missing the trombone pin for safety. It still works well for opening and closing the pin, just no safety pin to push in.
Marked Depose France on the back, which means registered in France.
This beautifully crafted French Celluloid Brooch is a wonderful piece of artwork and in good condition for its age.
You can see that there is a tiny break in the rope at the top of the sails, it is not seen by the naked eye but the Brooch has been magnified by the lens of the camera many fold.
