I designed this bold messenger bag with the leg of a black and white striped pair of pants. The black and white stripe is VERY bold and that's why I used the bright bold butterflies on the Messenger style flap. It really gets your attention, doesn't it?

The pair of handmade butterfly appliques are just the perfect addition.. My appliques are all hand cut, sealed, and sewn on for durability. The large fire red and orange butterfly you see on the flap has a wing span of 8 and 3/4 inches. A nice bold statement.

Lifting the flap you'll find an explosion of flowers and cute butterflies. Completely lined inside. And just because, I made a puffed butterfly key chain and little change purse to match. Keep it on the bag for eye candy, or remove them and use them as you see fit.

Messenger measures 15 inches wide x 1 and 1/2 inch gussets at the bottom X 7 and 3/4 inches tall. The top of the bag is 16 and 1/2 wide. A 3 inch wide black denim zipper placket adds width and some height.

A 14 inch zipper opening. A brass zipper is used. A first quality reclaimed zipper from a factory that closed. I used black crinkled goat leather on both ends of the zipper placket. This gives you a place to grab when opening and closing the bag.

An 8 and 1/4 inch wide X 5 and 1/2 inch interior pocket. Fully lined with black denim. This gives your pocket stability.

A 43 inch adjustable shoulder strap. Black denim on one side and the lining fabric on the other. I used silver tone hardware on the strap.

Approx. 3 inch puff bright red key chain with a centered butterfly is attached to the bag. The stuffing is denim threads from when I hand fray some of my handles. I save all those threads for other projects.

Also attached is a small change purse, measuring about 3 inches tall and 3 and 3/4 inches wide. Fully lined with the messenger lining fabric. I embellished the front with this fabric as well. The back side of the change purse is made with vintage red eel skin leather.

This is a one of kind messenger bag with matching trinkets. A Hand made, one of a kind bag designed by me. All the black denim used in this bag is reclaimed. There are no holes, stains, or discoloration, other than natural fading from washings.

Machine wash on quick cycle. Always turn your bag inside out when washing, use COLD water, mild organic detergents, and NEVER bleach your bag. Shape and air dry your bag to retain the bright bold colors.
