i love the way the trueArt(TM) designs look in metal. open so that you might find yourself within the lines of the design. and framed in brushed aluminum - elegant. strong. (& lasting!) originally envisioned as bookmarks, these pieces look beautiful hung on a wall as art or decoration: a simple piece to infuse your home with the spirit of the design. they also make wonderful gifts or favors, and can be engraved to commemorate an occasion. (one couple gave engraved versions out as favors at their wedding!)

the aluminum is laser cut, then machine finished for that gorgeous brushed look, and powder coated for a smooth finish. each panel has its own markings & character from the creation process. perfectly imperfect, if you will. tassles are removable or exchangeable. (if you prefer an alternate trueArt color, please let me know.) the panels are 2.25"x7", & about 1 mm thick.

this was the first of the trueSelves(TM) designs. it kinda morphed into being as i sought to find a way to express my own awakening to a brand new world. the figures reflect the nurturing i was feeling from the islands; and my mother who, though she had died a few months before, never felt far from me.

the design named itself: "born". a new babe, cradled in her (or his) parent's arms, held close to their heart until she gets her feet under her a bit. but in this moment - both child & parent - in perfect peace, content just to be.
