Gourd Art Flower on Driftwood

$70.00
Quantity: 1 available
Product Description
Do you love flowers and wish they would never wilt away? This colorful flower will never wilt and never, ever needs watering.

The flower is made out of a gourd and the base is a piece of driftwood that I found awhile back on the river by my house.

It is 6"tall by 5" wide at the base.

The inside of the flower, the edge of the petals, and the leaves at the base were painted with acrylics. The outside of the flower was done with colored pencil and my woodburner. The entire flower, including the base, has been sealed with a water-based finish.

The gourd flower is securely attached to the driftwood base and is not removable.

International shipping will be by Express Mail International. It is not listed at this time because all countries may not accept this piece through customs. Please contact me if interested and I'll check to make sure it can be shipped to your country and quote you the shipping price as well.

Inspiration/Story Behind This Product
This flower was sort of an experiment to see if I could try and mimic some art glass done by Dale Chihuly. His work is so spectacular and I love how he gets the colored glass to do what he wants it to. I will never be a glass blower, but I do enjoy admiring glass artist's creations.

For this piece, I wanted to try and get a totally different look for the inside of a gourd by using a variety of color instead of painting it one solid color such as black.
