This pyroengraved gourd mask is brightly painted with main colors of red, yellow, and orange.

He is approx 18" high by 5.75" wide (45.7cm x 14.6cm)

After sketching my designs onto the gourd, I used pyrography (wood burning) to enhance the lines and add more details. Coloring was applied with a combination of leather dye and acrylics.

Thousands of tiny dots (stippling), pyroengraved into the gourd, surround the flames of the sun to create shadow and really make the sun pop off the surface.

The eyes and mouth have been completely carved out as the same with all of my masks.

All of my masks are named. This one's name is "Valandil"
