Product Description
Jos. A. Bank Collection Vintage Mens Tie In Red, Blue, Gray And Gold- Item #VMT112
This is a handsome Jos. A. Bank Collection vintage men's tie in red, blue, gray and gold. As pictured this tie is has splashes of several shades of blue, as well as cranberry, gray, gold and light tan.
Ties build an image of confidence and power and this vintage Jos. A. Bank collection tie just epitomizes both of those qualities.
This Jos. A. Bank vintage mens tie in red, blue, gray and gold still has its original tags the large one of course which reads "Jos. A. Bank", but it also still has its smaller tag which reads " All Silk- Handprinted in Italy - Made in USA".
Tie measures 60" in length and 4" across at its widest point and has no stains, pulls or tears, only some minor wrinkling in the area where the knot would have been made. This great looking tie is in excellent vintage condition and has been well cared for in its lifetime.
It originally belonged to a local professional man who was an avid tie collector for years. We acquired much of his collection which ranges from the 1950's through to the early 1980's.
This is your chance to own an outstanding Jos. A. Bank tie at a fraction of its retail price if it were new, and it wass Made in The USA of high quality materials unlike the newer imported ones.
This listing is for the tie only! Shirt and tie clip are used for display only!
Brief History of Jos. A. Bank:
When Joseph A. Bank was 11 years old he started working for his grandfather. He later spent 10 years as the company's wholesale salesperson, traveling in the South selling pants.
Moses Hartz established a men's clothing manufacturing company in 1905, which upon his death was taken over by his widow Lena Hartz in 1921. Anna Hartz, was their daughter and traveling salesperson for her parents company. Anna eventually met and married Joseph Bank, and in 1922, Joseph Bank joined forces with his mother-in-law and they formed L. Hartz and Bank and the new company manufactured suits which they sold to retailers throughout the area.
The company grew and prospered and in 1940, they located their offices, showroom, shipping and cutting department in a building they purchased on Hopkins Place located in Baltimore. Joseph Bank and his son, Howard, bought out the Hartz interest in the company and formed JoS. A. Bank and Company in 1945.
Over the ensuing year the company was sold and purchased by a number of different companies including Quaker Oats Company. In 1998, all of their manufacturing facilities were "out sourced", so they are no longer manufactured in the US.
