This is a handsome Geoffrey Beene vintage men's tie in teal, hot pink, blue, gold brown paisley. As pictured this tie has a teal colored background with hot pink, blue, gold and brown paisley pattern throughout.

This Geoffrey Beene vintage mens tie in teal, hot pink, blue, gold, brown paisley still has its original tags the large one of course which reads "Geoffrey Beene", but it also still has its smaller tag which reads "Silk- Fabric From Italy".

Tie measures approximately 55" in length and 4" across at its widest point and has no stains, pulls or tears, only some minor wrinkling in the area where the knot would have been made.

This great looking tie is in excellent condition and has been well cared for in its lifetime. It originally belonged to a local professional man who was an avid tie collector for years. We acquired much of his collection from his estate. Ties dates range from the 1950's through to the 1980's.

Brief History of Geoffrey Beene:
Geoffrey Beene, the American fashion designer, was born in Haynesville, Louisiana on August 30, 1924. He started out studying medicine for three years at Tulane University but dropped out in 1946.

The following year, he moved to New York to attend Traphagen School of Fashion. In the following years, he worked for a number of the well known fashion houses in Paris and New York including Harmay and Teal Traina and Rockohype.

He founded his own company, Geoffrey Beene, Inc. in 1963, with his showroom being located on Seventh Avenue in Manhattan. Among his most famous clients were Nancy Reagan, Faye Dunaway, Pat Nixon, Lady Bird Johnson, and Glenn Close. Geoffrey Beene was both and innovator and a teacher and mentored many of today's successful designers. Beene's fantastic 40 year fashion design career came to an end on September 28, 2004, when he died due to complications from cancer.
