In wicca and other pagan practices, the cauldron symbolizes the symbolic womb of the Great Mother Goddess.

This bowl was made with performing rituals in mind. While it has a foot ring rather than the three feet common to most cauldrons, it is lifted from the table to aid in keeping heat from burning incense or herbs off the table.*

This bowl was made from white clay in which I carved the pentacle symbol. Within that symbol, I inlaid a dark red clay, then trimmed that clay to be flush with the wall of the bowl.

The glaze is a clear glaze so the colors are only created by the changes of clay itself.

If you prefer to use this bowl as a serving bowl rather than saving it for your altar, it can withstand the rigors of your kitchen and will be beautiful when you use it to serve at a potluck.

This bowl measures 6.5 inches in diameter and is 3.5 inches deep. It makes a perfect salad bowl for a 2-3 person household or a small casserole.

This bowl is safe for the dishwasher, oven, and even the microwave.

*If you intend to use pottery of any kind for burning items, you should fill the vessel partially with sand and burn the item on top of the sand. Bowls like this are suitable for the oven and can withstand plenty of heat, if that heat is evenly distributed throughout the pot. Isolated heat sources such as burning charcoal or a stovetop creates thermal fractures and can crack the pot.
