Agateware is pottery that is decorated with contrasting colors of clay. Most agateware is thrown on the wheel in a swirling pattern, whereas this bowl was also made on the wheel, but the marbling doesn't swirl, the colors move both vertically and horizontally in a more organic marbled pattern.

This bowl is made of red, light brown, white, and black stoneware. The rim is not perfectly round due to the way in which the marbling is created, but it is thickened to create a nice frame for the bowl.

Even though it's beautiful, this bowl is meant to be used every day. It can become a favorite cereal or salad bowl and is safe for the microwave and dishwasher.

It measures approximately 5 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall.
