After much experimentation and supply hunting I feel positive enough to add as an option.

For $1 more I'll make your bottlecap pincushion with a adjustable metal ring.

Rings are attached with heavy dollops of hot glue to the bottom, no glue will contact your pins, or hands as the entire fixture is covered with felt.

ANY bottlecap Pincushion I make can get this add-on.

SIZING:
Rings are rather small, but adujstable. I would say the ring is about a size 8 before adjusting.

I have large man sized hands (size 10 ring) and they are a pinky ring for me BEFORE spreading the ring apart about 1/4" inch to fit me.

If you have hands my size you might contact me about a felt loop to wear it instead.
