A circa early 40's feathered hat in rich burgundy fur felt. This asymmetrical, structured cap style with offset brim is trimmed with a plethora of feathers across the front and around one side. Front multi-colored feathers (likely pheasant) give way to a cascade of incredibly soft, claret-colored feathers, the softest I've ever felt. Hat is upswept above the brim, and crown is shaped to the head. A quintessential look you see in period movies--very Joan Crawford looking. I can see this with a long, tailored winter coat or a short topper jacket with slacks.

Measures about 22" inside diameter (fits me perfectly, and I take a 22" hat). Very good to excellent condition. I had to re-glue feathers in two places, and there's a spot of old discolored glue on a feather just above the brim, barely noticeable. A handful, or fewer, of tiny picks in the felt.
