Product Description
I have a friend who collects watermelon items, or rather she used to until I found so many that she finally told me Please no more It became a bit of a joke between us as I collect ET items and she pommeled me with some of the oddest ET things in my collection.

In honor of my friend I present a series of three rugs that are colored like a juicy summer watermelon. Whenever I see them I think of her and our silly competition.

This particular rug is more formal with stripes of green alternated with splotches of watermelon red, tiny spots of black and pale green. It is woven of recycled drapery remnants and recycled sheets

Warp is done in stripes of dusty green and natural accented with black

It is a cotton warp

The size of this rug is 24 x 42

Length of rug does not include the length of hand knotted fringe

My greatest joy in weaving comes in color exploration. Weaving rag rugs allows me to combine colors in ways that I might not have thought of if the rags were not in front of me, daring me to put them together.

All my rugs are woven on a large vintage Weavers Delight rug loom built in 1942. The whole house shakes when I am weaving. The designs are my own and I have won several awards for my work. I use all recycled materials in my wefts and either cotton or polyester warp. My rugs are machine washable in warm or cool. It is best to line dry. Give the fringe a good shake to straighten it and hang over a clothesline or rail. With a bit of care this rug will last a good many years.

Shipping is included on this rug when sent within the contiguous United States. I am happy to ship elsewhere. Please contact me before purchase so that I may provide you with an accurate rate.
