Two 1" long barrel beads

These very special beads are offered only once or twice a year and by custom order. The beads are hand painted using porcupine quills. I have three basic designs - The Swirls using a beautiful variation of the Pysanky Egg drop-pull techniques. Ornate Filigree, and the detailed painted pieces like my Medicine Wheels.

Each bead is made with recycled wood and dipped in a very special dip that gives them a super shiney thick glass like finish and protects the delicate painting underneath. There are no other beads like them. Each Bead is unique and designed in pairs so you can easily make earrings or symmetrical designs with them. They may vary some pair to pair however.

As a lifelong student of art, I find genuine inspiration in the language and beauty of symbols, color, patterns, nature, history, myth and magic.
