Fanciful and enchanting! A flourish of blooms and shutes fills the scene with whimsical wildwood---the stems shoot off from their origin in a fan with each bloom having it's own characteristics. Berries and leaves and curly twigs seem to sprout out from every direction.



A 6" round pine plaque was delicately burned to take advantage of the fickle design. The scorching side-effects of the hot iron were intentionally left un-corrected to add a playful, handmade personality to the piece. The black background is also scorched and textured to give depth and a touchable quality.

My best product ideas come from my customers. When my buyer suggested that I make some mid-sized Renaissance woodburnings with a darkened background, and use designs that fill the space---I knew she was onto a great concept for my particular talents! As I was burning the Whimsical series I decided that I rather liked the scorching and overburn, and those characteristics are preseved. My buyer was very pleased with my work in this style and subsequentially bought several pieces:) When my customer talks....I listen.
