Two baby spiral snakes each hold a droplet of gold. Each snake-let has been shaped, and hammered for fun and then etched by hand. A wire wrapped droplet bead was attached. These earring were designed to be worn from back to front, (they can't back out if they are worn from back to front), but they can be worn either way.

I originally made back to front (rear entry) earrings because I had lightweight hair that was curly and it used to catch in fine lightweight earrings, never allowing them to flow (as in feathers) and actually caused me to lose earrings because my hair would support them so well that there was nothing holding them in!
I went through a period where I wore asymmetry only because I had a lot of unpaired earrings.

These earrings have been completely made by hand, in my bookmark style. They are cold forged, and textured by me. Everything is made from copper with the exception of ornamental items added such as, beads and baubles which will also be described in the listing.

Each earring is shaped by hand, filed and sanded and all patterning and/or textures have been added by me.

After each earring is completed it is given a treatment of Renaissance Surface cleaner, followed by a coat of Renaissance Polish Wax, a museum grade restoration and protecting wax. Other than wax polish, no other coating has been applied, and your bookmark(s) will patina naturally. A soft damp toothbrush will remove any wax or polish residue found in crevasses.

As it patinas your earring will look better and better if it receives an occasional buff to restore the shine on flat surfaces while the sides retain their patina, achieving an antiqued appearance. A soft buffing will also shine any raised area however take great care near any beading and its wiring.
Please remember to remove from your ears before sleeping as patina will rub off on your ears leaving dark marks (and your earrings might get bent due to the nature of their creation).
