Natural, Genuine Moonstone pieces seem to shimmer from within like the light of the full moon. Finished with hand formed spirals, these Moonstone earrings give a delicate and highly feminine impression.

Measuring approximately 1 and 1/4 inches (or 3.4 cm) from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the dangle, these hypoallergenic earrings are very lightweight and comfortable. The comfort fit earwires are made with the center of gravity in mind so that they will not work their way out of your ears during the day.

All the wirework on these hypoallergenic earrings is handmade by me from enamel plated copper, but these can also be made on different color or material earwires and findings, even traditional fishhook earwires, leverback or euroclasp, etc. Just ask!

While silver color, these have no silver or nickel content, making them suitable for people with both nickel and silver allergies, or if you just don't want to deal with the tarnish associated with fine silver.

A member of the Feldspar family (like labradorite, larvikite, amazonite, and sunstone), these Genuine Moonstone earrings exhibit the characteristic "adularescence" which is a shimmery "flash" similar to opalescence. For this reason, genuine moonstone is sometimes referred to as "water opal." The colors on these are natural, varying from white to the palest of peach or grey, but classified as white moonstone.

Metaphysically, Moonstone is a highly calming and soothing stone, especially in tune with the female psyche and emotions. It is often called the woman's stone, as it is though to assist with everything feminine from pms to menopause to fertility, as well as providing protection for women during pregnancy and childbirth. For both men and women, genuine Moonstone enhances intuition, spiritual awareness, gentleness, patience, and compassion as it soothes aggression and promotes balance and harmony. This is one of the best stones to use for stress and anxiety.

In crystal healing lore, Moonstone is thought to assist the reproductive and digestive systems, aiding especially with conception in the former and with digestive troubles associated with emotional stress in the latter. Moonstone is also thought to assist the lymph system, liver, pancreas, and pituitary gland, and may help some users with insomnia.

These earrings are 100% nickel-free, lead-free, and hypoallergenic. The findings are made from natural brass, which is 85% copper / 15% zinc, both minerals that are biologically necessary for life, so they cannot cause an allergy.

Upon request, any of my earrings can also be made with different material findings, including 22K Gold-plated surgical grade stainless steel (recommended by Simply Whispers), .999 fine silver plated surgical grade stainless steel, natural brass (bronze), solid copper, or enamel plated copper (in a variety of colors). The enamel plated copper is the most hypoallergenic of these materials, though it does not offer quite the same look and shine as fine silver or 22K gold.

Another factor to consider is that fine silver tarnishes quickly and splotchy, solid copper tarnishes somewhat slowly, brass tarnishes slowly and evenly, and the 22K gold and enamel do not tarnish at all.
