Natural, Genuine Sunstone hand-cut Faceted Rondelles are lovingly and painstakingly wire-wrapped in tiny 26 gauge wire to create these petite treasures. Every bit of wirework you see here is done by my own hands, from the comfort fit hypoallergenic earwires to the jumprings to the wire wrapping.

These earrings have no nickel or silver content, making them safe for users with both nickel and/or silver allergies.

These are petite measuring about 1" from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the dangle, and are featherlight.

These genuine plagioclase feldspar Sunstones were imported from India, and have not been dyed or color treated in any way. Sunstone is somewhat soft, so please treat these gemstones gently. They have a slightly pinkish hue to them, with shades of orange and flashes of red. Please see the close up photos to appreciate these amazing stones.

Sunstones are a member of the Feldspar family, cousins to other Feldspars such as Moonstone, Larvikite, Labradorite, and Amazonite. Sunstones have a lovely "spangled" appearance from tiny scales of red, somewhat similar to aventurescence. Sunstones from Oregon usually have inclusions of copper giving them their color, while Sunstones from India, Norway, and Siberia usually contain red hematite inclusions.

Sunstones are not traditional birthstones or anniversary gemstones, but it is associated with the sign Leo as it symbolizes moving towards success.

The enamel plated copper is the most hypoallergenic of these materials, though it does not offer quite the same look and shine as real silver or gold. Another factor to consider is that fine silver tarnishes quickly and splotchy, solid copper and brass both tarnish slowly and evenly, and the 22K gold and enamel do not tarnish at all, unless badly nicked.
