Measuring approximately 1 and 1/2 inches (or 3.8 cm) from the top of the earwire to the bottom of the dangle, these hypoallergenic earrings are comfortable and lightweight. The comfort fit handformed and hammered earwires are made with the center of gravity in mind so that they will not work their way out of your ears during the day.

Amethyst is a traditional birthstone for February and Aquarius, and is the anniversary gemstone for the 4th and 6th years of marriage.

All the wirework on these hypoallergenic earrings is handmade by me from natural brass, but these can also be made on different color or material earwires and findings, even traditional fishhook earwires, leverback or euroclasp, etc. Just ask!

The stones have not been heated, dyed, or treated in any way. What you see is their beautiful, natural color, perfect for for highlighting and playing up the green hues in green eyes, brown eyes, and hazel eyes. With lighter, gray, or blue eyes, they will come off softer. Limited availability, as I have so far only been able to obtain one strand of these stones.

Amethysts name can be traced back to Greek origin from the word amethustos, which means something like to prevent intoxication. Amethyst has long be known as the stone of sobriety, and ancient Greeks and romans even crushed it up and put it in their drinks for this purpose. At one time in China, pieces of amethyst were rented to people involved in lawsuits, as the stone was said to give one a more positive outlook, thus attracting a favorable outcome.

A powerful and protective stone, the metaphysical properties of Amethyst are not limited to encouraging sobriety, though it is said to help heal addictions of all kinds. Amethyst is an excellent guardian against psychic attack, protecting the wearer from ill-will of others. Whila a single Amathyst crystal or geode is quite powerful on its own, its ability is greatly multiplied when Amethysts are arranged in clusters.

In Crystal healing lore, Amethyst is said to help heal withdrawal symptoms from any sort of addiction. It also brings relief from headaches, arthritis, fibromyalgia, other pains, and pain or stress-related insomnia. Amethyst is thought to help with a variety of illnesses by regulating the endocrine system, boosting the immune system, and cleansing the blood. These earrings are 100% nickel-free, lead-free, and hypoallergenic. The findings are made from natural brass, which is 85% copper / 15% zinc, both minerals that are biologically necessary for life, so they cannot cause an allergy.

Upon request, any of my earrings can also be made with different material findings, including 22K Gold-plated surgical grade stainless steel (recommended by Simply Whispers), .999 fine silver plated surgical grade stainless steel, natural brass (bronze), solid copper, or enamel plated copper (in a variety of colors). The enamel plated copper is the most hypoallergenic of these materials, though it does not offer quite the same look and shine as fine silver or 22K gold. Another factor to consider is that fine silver tarnishes quickly and splotchy, solid copper tarnishes somewhat slowly, brass tarnishes slowly and evenly, and the 22K gold and enamel plated copper do not tarnish at all.
