Bird Segmentation - Tweedle Dee

Look at these vibrant colors - orange, reds, set off the blues and greens that decorate this handcrafted wood bird (Parrot?) wallhanging.

Tweedle Dee was designed by Chrestensen Burghout Designs. I took a piece of oak lumber, and cut it into segments. The 27 segments were shaped and sanded, then colored using leather dyes. Many layer of dyes were applied, sanding between each layer. Once the color was to my liking, I applied 2 coats of tung oil for protection. Everything was glued together, and a backing board was added.

Tweedle Dee will come ready to hang on your wall.

Designers don't always have time to take their patterns and see how they look when cut. So I've been working with Chrestensen Burghout Designs and get to cut some of their designs before they are offered to the public! This is one of their designs.
