Contemporary design in wood by Norman Ridenour from Adorewoods brings you elegant , one of a kind design executed in European hardwoods. Ridenour is a former California sculptor and furniture maker. He moved to the Czech Republic nearly two decades ago to build a new life but discovered the huge supply of beautiful wood and it was too much temptation to resist. Besides teaching, he went back to working with his hands, this time as a woodturner. Hiking and biking in Bohemian woods provide both inspiration and leads on raw material. The result is a line of contemporary, one of a kind, hand made wooden bowls, vases, containers, trays and other items; organic sensuality in wood. European brown oak, ash, pear, apple, walnut, cherry, maple and chestnut all appear in the output from time to time depending on the season and what has been recently been cut. More »
