"Old Masters" is a term that usually refers to works of art created before 1800. You may find a few of those offered here from time to time, but I am taking a little "artistic license" with the term simply because the artists represented on my site are not contemporary as most
are that you will find on ArtFire. They are "older," and in fact most are long deceased. Many are what we call "listed" artists, meaning they have been cited in standard reference books and have had works sold in the major auction houses of the world.
All of the works represented on OldMasters are original works. They are one of a kind, unlike reproductions such as lithographs or giclees which may have many copies. Whenever possible I include biographical information about the artist in my descriptions.
The condition of all works offered is excellent to superior. Most older works have minor restorations as a matter of course but I do not handle works that have been compromised. More »
