I mostly work with precious metal clay and sterling. PMC, or Precious Metal Clay, consists of microscopic particles of a precious metal in an organic binder. (silver or gold and now comes in base metals, copper and bronze) When fired at a high heat with a torch or in a kiln, the organic binder burns away and the metal particles fuse together leaving a solid metal piece, in the case of silver it is pure silver (.999).
