We’ve added a new studio feature for Pro (verified) account holders: the ArtFire Studio Blog. With your studio blog you can interact with you customers, keep them updated on your latest projects or newest offerings, or just muse about crafts or life in general! Blogs are a great way to entertain your current customers and attract new ones. With the ArtFire blog, your readers are already in your studio and can easily switch between reading a blog post to browsing your items, and back. If the ArtFire Rapid Cart brought part of your studio to your blog, this latest feature brings a blog to your entire studio.
I have a feeling that some ArtFire members haven’t been sold on the idea of blogging yet. Let me say this, Google loves blogs. Google loves how blogs function: they have lots of unique editorial content, they are updated regularly, they often talk about the latest news, they inspire discussion (comments) which further add to content, they also tend to point people to other good resources. When you do a search on Google, it is common to see a blog post returned as a result because that post answers the question the searcher had. A well written, regularly updated blog on your studio can act as another door for customers to walk through via Google and other search engines; it can also keep your customers coming back to check in on your latest updates.
This is different than a blogger blog or a wordpress blog; this blog is designed to bring search traffic into your studio, while allowing you the creative freedom to entertain your readers. Like your items, a blog post can be returned as a result to a search query. However, a well written blog post that becomes popular, gets linked-to and cited on other blogs can bring in much more traffic than a single item. We’ve designed these blogs so that each post you make has the potential to bring you traffic. We also realize that you’re not just writing for a search engine, but for your readers. We don’t want you to sacrifice quality writing about interesting topics just to please Google. With both SEO and your readers in mind, we designed your blog so that each post can be optimized for both. Make sure to check out the Studio Blog SEO guide, it covers the important SEO aspects of each post and how you affect them.
For this release we’ve created two new guides: the ArtFire Studio Blog Help Guide which covers the features and functionally of the new studio blogs and the ArtFire Studio Blog SEO Guide to explain the important search engine optimization aspects of the new blogs. If you haven’t already, you might want to check out the Social Media Optimization Blogging Guide and the Keyword Researchguide as well; both have good points that can be applied to your new studio blog.
