The main body of the bead is dark silver plum which has a metallic sheen, especially where it has reacted with the ivory glass beneath the raised dots (if you look carefully you will see lots of webbing detail where the reaction has occurred).
All of the dots were made using the same coloured glass, but due to the nature of the glass there is a lovely variation from light green to mid blue to very dark blue. (Image #3 shows both the front and back of the same bead).
:: Measurements ::
The bead measures approximately 35mm (1.4 inches) in length, and is 18mm (0.71 inches) wide at its fattest point including the bumps. At its narrowest point in the middle, the bead is approximately 10mm (0.4 inches) wide. The bead was wound on a 2.4mm mandrel, and so you will be able to string it onto slightly thicker materials such as leather thonging or cord, as well as wire.
:: About me ::
I make all of the glass beads that I sell by hand, in my little studio in Northumberland. All of my beads are annealed in a kiln to ensure their durability, and are cleaned thoroughly. However, remember that any glass items can break if dropped or banged into a solid object with sufficient force, so please take care!
Thanks so much for looking, please contact me if you have any questions at all!

I hand shaped this bead into a tapered barrel, and then added big dots of silver glass covered in clear, and little dots of aqua glass. There are streaks in the base of the bead which were created while the bead was being formed.
