I knew that I was going to be adding the helicopter style apparatus to the back end of the horse with copper rotor blades so I painted the horse copper to match.

While the horse dried, I set out to make said rotor blades and figure out how to get them attached to the center pole. Because of the arrangement of the curls of black metal the blades cant actually turn all the way around. I added a "gear" that would in a theoretical world allow the pole to raise or lower and allow the blades freedom of movement.

With the horse dry and the rotors attached, I glued and then wired the contraption to the back of the horse then added more copper wire, lots of crystal and copper beads around the horse along with several more gears in various places to make it all work.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:
Equi’Thopter is a member of the Thopter guild of working horses. He is young for his position, but very strong and a quick learner, even his Supervisor has commented on these traits. He is most proud of the gear on his central Thopter pole that allows the pole to rise over the stabilizing spider webs during flight. This provides a sleeker look during non transit times. He additionally admires the gears at his front quarters which assist with propulsion and lift off, and which are connected to the central column via copper wire. His favorite rigging is the strand of black and copper stones running along his front and sides which provide both elegance and a disguise for his power cells.

Egyptian Sea - seed bead rope necklace or bracelet (#118)

Egyptian Sea - seed bead rope neck... Perhaps it should be better titled the Nile, but that feels presumptuous. Making the piece put me in mind of bright turquoise with flashes of indigo, the white and gold of the queens of Upper and Lower Egypt.
