These earrings steal the show. They really do. They are just gorgeous. So many components to tell you about! Let's start at the bottom and work our way up. :)

A large chalcedony teardrop shaped bead dangles from a sterling wirewrap. The stone seems to almost glow from within. I've had quite the fixation with chalcedony recently. This set is an electric robin's egg blue color. It reminds me so much of the flashy blue stripe on the neon tetra fish, hence the name. The stones are faceted so they sparkle. Just beautiful.

They're wrapped in thin sterling silver which has been oxidized to a dark, antiqued color. In front of the wrap are three garnets so dark they are opaque black. Each garnet is perched atop a sterling silver ball headpin. This sterling is bright and shiny. It contrasts so well with the dark chainmail above.

Just above the garnets is a bit of handwoven chainmaille. It's also sterling silver, and it has been oxidized to a dark grey color. Each of the small rings was opened, woven, and closed by hand. They're woven into the byzantine weave of maille.

The chainmail is attached to bright shiny sterling earwires. These are handmade, and are shaped into a big round shape. Very contemporary.

Overall, these earrings have been lovingly handcrafted and will last a lifetime. They are one of a kind and will not be recreated once they sell.
