This OOAK abstract painting is done on a 5x5 canvas with gesso, textural medium, acrylic paints, archival ink, and a little bit of pastel crayon - that's the shimmering yellow on the surface.

Mr. Seahorse is in the middle, bobbing around in the colorful flotsam of the sea. He's imaged from a hand-carved stamp I made, one of my favorites.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:

The seahorse rubber stamp that I carved and used in this painting was inspired by a seahorse exhibit I saw at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. These creatures are so breathtaking, they look graceful and futuristic, and yet also prehistoric at the same time. They amaze me. Plus I like that the daddy takes care of the babies.
