Gourdaments, unique Christmas ornaments made from natural gourds, make a wonderful gift or addition to your own Christmas tree. Gourdaments also work great as a year-round decoration.



Gourdaments are made using very small gourds, typically spinner or oriental bottle gourds. A design is hand painted or inked onto the gourd, a finish is applied, and a small eye hook is added to the top of the gourd for hanging.



Each gourdament is approximately 2 inches tall and 1-2 inches wide at the widest point. Designs and shapes vary. When ordering gourdaments know that you will not be able to see and choose a specific design but will be given a random gourdament as depicted in the photographs.





Some basic gourd info:

•Gourds are non-edible squash.

•There are different curing methods. Our favorite is to scrape off the thin outer layer of fresh gourds then hang them to dry out. The drying process averages about 1 to 2 years depending on gourd variety and size.

•Once gourds are fully cured, they basically become wood and will last accordingly. Just like wood, they will rot if left in water, but otherwise will last indefinitely.
