Fire’s body is made from a wonderful satin fabric for the body that was covered in swirls of velvet. Like her sisters, Fire Dancer wanted Lots and Lots of hair! We picked out a variegated acrylic yard that shades from brite to dark red. To capture the movement of her flames I built her skirt out of folds of wire wrapped red/god ribbon so it can be twisted into different positions as she moves. For her crown there really wasn’t any other option but gold twist wire with stars! Lots and lots of Stars! And the final piece that sets her apart from her sisters? Her torch! Custom made for each Fire Dancer, the torch is a battery operated tea light wrapped in ribbon and wire that is removable for those dance routines that need a little less bling. And the battery is accessible so that it can be changed out when it runs out of juice.

All the Dancers are supper soft; though because of the wire in her outfit, Fire Dancer has a few more “thorns” shall we say… than the others. But she is still squeezable and easy to play with for people big and small. She loves to dance and play, to have people rest their cheeks against her to whisper dreams and stories.

Each doll has a necklace of seed beads with a pendant that matches her sisters’ in size and style, to show their connection to one another.

Please note that while these dolls are much more squishable and hugable than my other dolls, and much more kid friendly, they do have small bits and bobs on them, so parents, please use caution and discretion when handing them off to little kids.
