Moonlight Horse and Indian Brave Walking Original Watercolor Painting

I think many of us crazy horse people love horses so much because of the unique bond and support horses can offer. And such it has been throughout history, especially in native cultures of the southwest. I can only imagine what type of bonds were formed between an Indian brave and his trusted steed on a daily basis. Probably not unlike what we horselovers experience in our own life. Thus the idea for this painting, creating a picture that would represent that mutual bond of trust, respect and partnership. Here they are traveling along a desert trail home after a long day that's turned into a moonlit night. The brave is offering his hand as a kind affirmation of respect and acknowledgement of a worthy partner from his Creator. The horse is looking toward his brave, perhaps recognizing this offer, glad to be heading home.
