Light weight vintage barkcloth was the starting point for my embellishments. I added panels of this pink and grey on white cotton fabric to the front and fringed them on the bottom and along the button placket. Kinda funky, kinda retro.
Then I added vintage crocheted lace to the collar. The lace color blends from white to dark pink.
Ruffles made from pink and white cotton oxford cloth are stitched around the bottom hem.
The sleeves also have 2 inch ruffles with matching crocheted lace topstitched on.
I replaced the original buttons with dusty rose colored buttons to complete the look.
A plain denim shirt has become something very special!
You can be assured that all the embellishments have been securely and neatly stitched. All edges are cleanly finished. Even the fringed edges are stitched to prevent further fraying.
