Until now collectors of the Collins line have had little information on this great American folk artist. In fact, not much was known outside a small circle of major collectors!
This easy to use book on c-d was written with the help of Collins family members, artists for the Collins line, 1950's & 60's shop owners, and exhaustive research of some very important collections.
Chapters are arranged by theme. There were so many different designs each year, as Enid was incredibly prolific. Each chapter contains pages full of fabulous detailed color pictures as well as anecdotal history of the designs It is filled with so many great surprises. I'm sure you'll find it the best work on this wonderful artist to date!
It is a mod mod world still, or so it seems. In the past year or so, designers have sprung up all over the planet with purse lines obviously inspired by Enid Collins. Her style is still fun, and apparently contagious. Still there is NOTHING like the real deal.
This book includes information never before known by many Collins of Texas collectors, and serves as a great learning tool for new collectors. It provides great detail on the identification & care of the bags as well, serving as the perfect reference & values guide.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:
I wanted to collect as many pictures of the designs as possible, to provide the viewer with a full gallery like experience. Enid's handbags were truly works of American folk art. It is impossible to own them all, of course but with this great c-d volume, it is the next best thing.
