"Blue Maples Sunprints and Leaf Prints " Art Quilt for framing 11"x14".

Sunprints of Maple leaves on fabric painted pale blue to green and Maple leaf prints on white fabric with blue and rose paint. Prints are arranged with couched yarn along their edges, bordered with a deep blue painted and salt patterned fabric. The piece is bound with same couched yarn on the edges. Freemotion quilting accents the sunprints and leaf prints, and borders are quilted with a vinelike pattern. Sized for a standard size frame, or display any way you wish.

This will make a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves to be surrounded by nature. Mini quilts are sized for standard size frames, they can be mounted to artist canvas, or even displayed as they are.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:

Sunprints are are a way of using my gardens in my art. They are made by placing leaves, flowers, and(or) thin foam sheet cutouts (for butterflies or hummingbirds) onto freshly painted cotton fabric, while the paint is still wet, and placed in the sun to dry. The combination of sun and humidity affect the speed at which the paint dries. If conditions are ideal, the color moves from under the leaf or flower, resulting in the sunprint. No two can be the same, due to different drying conditions and paint color combinations. Every print is a unique original. Leaf prints are another way of incorporating the beauty of leaves into my quilts by painting the veined surfaces with textile paint and pressing them onto the receiving fabric.
