This uniquely shaped kettle gourd is approximately 8 inches tall and 7 inches at its widest point.

This particular design is called "doodle" because whenever I'm doing a doodle on a piece of paper this is the type of design I create. The design is done in deep red and black using permanent inks and the natural color of the gourd shows through behind it. A gloss finish covers the entire gourd surface to protect the design and give a nice shine.

Some basic gourd info:
• Gourds are non-edible squash.
• There are different curing methods. Our favorite is to scrape off the thin outer layer of fresh gourds then hang them to dry out. The drying process averages about 1 to 2 years depending on gourd variety and size.
• Once gourds are fully cured, they basically become wood and will last accordingly. Just like wood, they will rot if left in water, but otherwise will last indefinitely.
