The same pair has 3 different appearances under different light - like the gemstone, Alexandrite, these earrings are made from glass that also changes color depending on the light. The first picture is in sunlight, where its a pale lavender. The second is under an incandescent light (the same color comes out with fluorescent light) where it appears more pink. The last is under a "white" light source where it looks blue.

The metal pieces are silver plate, the round glass bead is Chinese sea glass manufactured to look like glass you might find on the beach, scoured to a matte smoothness by the sand in the waves. The highly spiral faceted bead is Jablonex Czech glass.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:

I have simply fallen in love with this Chinese 'sea glass' which I get from The Beadin' Path. At first I thought this color was light blue, because I use an Ott lamp in my work room, but when I took it upstairs to photograph the blue glass I had matched with it didn't! So I took a look at it under different light and knew that I needed to use an 'alexandrite' colored bead instead. I've had the beautifully spiral faceted beads in my collection for some time and am planning to use them and the sea glass in a bracelet to be listed soon. I'm also going to try and find sterling square knot links, but you can benefit from the lower price of the less expensive plated ones in this set!
