Candy Cane Ornament

Woods used: Blood wood and Aspen

This is a wood inlay Candy Cane ornament of my design. The Aspen and Blood wood are cut to fit within each other exactly. I’ve glued the sections into the cane, then sanded it flat. I use a tung oil finish to bring out the natural colors of the wood. There are no dyes or stains used.

A metal screw eye was added for you to run a string or ribbon through to hang. (let me know if you want me to add a ribbon for you.)

My exotic wood comes from a custom flooring store. They take all of their scraps and throw them into a bin. I’m able to get these cut-offs and use them in my projects.

Not only do the ornaments look great on the Christmas tree, they make great gift toppers! Add one to the top of a box of homemade cookies for teachers, postal workers, or others.
