"Recycled Garden" Art Quilt of recycled materials- 9.75" X 12.5"

This is an Art Quilt made completely of recycled materials. The background of this piece is made of scrap fabrics including satin blanket bindings, flannel, painted and printed cotton fabrics and more. Snippets of threads and fabrics trapped under layers of fine netting, adding interest to the sky and land areas. The brown areas of the garden are brown paper toweling, stitched on.

The flowers and leaves are made of foil candy wrappers, accented with dye pens and colored pencils. The larger flower stems are raffia from a gift package. The grassy areas are made of painted dryer sheets and colored netting layered over the background fabric. Dye pens and stitching adds more interest to the sky and ground areas. This quilt is backed with a collection of fabric pieces, and the batting is a piece left from a quilt or other project.

The edges are finished with a decorative stitch in an off white thread. This can be matted and framed like any other work of art, or it can be stitched to an artist canvas.
