"Earthy Rudbeckia Sunprint 1" Quilted sunprint mounted on fabric covered canvas. Sunprint sized- 8" square, on 11x14" canvas.This piece is a simple sunprint I did using Rudbeckia flowers and leaves along with other flowers over fabric painted with rosy browns and greens. The 8" square sunprint is layered with poly batting and a cotton backing. Freemotion quilting accents the sunprints, and the little quilt is bound with a fuzzy, nubby brown yarn. It is mounted on a gallery stretched 11x14" canvas covered with an ivory, gold speckled fabric. The back has a picture wire added for hanging as it is, or it can be framed. The photo with the black border shows what it would look like with a frame. The second photo shows the piece photographed to show the depth of the canvas. The third photo shows detail of the stitching and sunprint.

Inspiration / Story behind this Product:

Sunprints are made by placing leaves, flowers, thin foam sheet cutouts (for butterflies or hummingbirds), and(or) any other flat items onto freshly painted cotton fabric, while the paint is still wet, and placed in the sun to dry. The combination of sun and humidity affect the speed at which the paint dries. If conditions are ideal, the color moves from under the leaves, flowers, or other items, resulting in the sunprint. No two can be the same, due to different drying conditions and paint color combinations. Every print is a unique original.
