This high quality yarn winder/swift is handcrafted in our studio here in Maine of Poplar hardwood with a stainless steel ball bearing turning mechanism for super smooth, easy winding. Many winder/swifts just rest on a wood post which can wear down and don't spin as smoothly. The winding pegs are adjustable from 72 inch skeins to 52 inches and down to 24 inch skeins. Even if you have an odd size skein, you just have to adjust the pegs until it fits and it will still wind smooth and evenly.

The arms are 28 inches long and can be removed with a common 4mm hex wrench for easy transport and storage. The base is a sturdy, solid 10.5 x 10.5 inches square with silicon feet so that it will not slip or slide while you are winding.

Comes with five, 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch pegs. Four for winding and one to use as a handle for rotating the winder.

I use this same winder myself and enjoy its fast smooth operation to wind my handspun my yarns.
