This hat was one of my first experiments of felting. Hat was crocheted in various colors, with bands at top and bottom, edged in picots and needle-felted with free form flowers. Hat was then felted by way of the washing machine. Felting has caused the wool fibers to meld, so hat is warm and thick. Due to the nature of felting, there isnt much stretch, hats fits closely. Appropriate for a child or very small head....
