Christmas is right around the corner, I know people hate it when I start saying that, especially when it's July, but as a potter, I have to start getting into the Holiday spirit when it's still sweltering hot out and the fireworks are going off from the 4th. This is the first of my Christmas Ornament listings. The theme is Santa Claws is Coming to Town.

The photo is a stock photo. The cat ornament will be almost identical, but because they're made and painted by hand there may be some variation. That makes your ornament unique.

This ornament was made from a rich red terracota clay that I rolled and cut out using a handmade template. While the clay was still soft I embedded high temperature wire for the whiskers and a little hanging loopy also made of high temp wire. The glaze technique is majolica. I painted 3 coats of a white satin glaze and then painted colored decorating glazes on top of the white. the result is a great satin finish. Each ornament comes with a nifty handmade wire hanger.
